Driving the local roads. The we came on a really small road and had to park the car on the side of the road in order to let the car coming from the opposite side drive around us. My dad then raised his index finger to salute the person in the other car. Now I had never seen this before. The other person greeted in the same way. I asked my dad for explanation. I said daddy do you know that man? This brought my dad in a bit of a complex situation trying to explain me that it is common to greet when you help each other on the road. But he did in fact also knew the man! And for the record: I wave my HAND, not only the index finger when saying thanks to someone on the road.
